Case Empark: car parks in Barcelona opt for digital locks

Believing that facilitating accessibility improves people’s daily lives, Empark recently installed the iLOQ S5 digital locking system in the control booths of its car parks in the province of Barcelona.

Empark is the leader in the parking and mobility sector in Spain and Portugal. Like iLOQ, the company is renowned for developing cutting-edge technologies, digital platforms and customized solutions. A significant example of this is its Telpark app which has more than 2 million users.

Believing that facilitating accessibility improves people’s daily lives, Empark recently opted for a technological innovation that iLOQ is a major part of. The company installed the iLOQ S5 digital locking system in the control booths of its car parks in the province of Barcelona.

Flexible access and mobility between different Empark sites are vital to enable employees to offer an optimal, face-to-face service at times when there is the greatest influx of cars. However, with 15 car parks and more than 30 employees in the province of Barcelona alone, access management for the different locations and roles is complex.

In the past, employees had to carry 15 separate keys to gain access to the different control booths. Now, thanks to the iLOQ S5 digital locking system, they can access all car parks with just one key.

“With one key providing access to all the car parks, employees can go about their daily work with greater ease and flexibility. And, as a company, we have greater security and control. Lost or stolen keys can easily be removed from the system and reassigned. Access management for different work shifts is quick and simple and the audit trail allows us to easily see who has entered and exited the control booths. And, on top of that, the battery-free solution minimizes environmental impact and maintenance costs,” states Alejandro Oller, head of the Empark service in Catalonia.
