Creating a New Phone Key after Phone Change - Old Phone Available

This section describes how to create a new Phone Key for an existing Phone Key user who has changed the phone.

Normally, the user shall inform the locking system administrator before changing the SIM card or phone, or both, so that the administrator can remove the old Phone Key from the old SIM card / phone combination. See Replacing the SIM Card.

If the user has not informed the locking system administrator before changing the phone, and has the old phone is available, follow these instructions.

Proceed as follows.

  1. Request the user to return using the old phone with the original SIM card.
  2. Select Basic data > Browse keys.

  3. Select the Phone Key in question from the Browse keys list.
  4. Right-click the key and select Return and empty key.
The Return of keys wizard is opened.
  5. Select Return keys.

    • Retain key connections to persons — Select this check box if you want to retain the Phone Key on the original person. Unselect this check box if you want to assign this Phone Key to another person, or leave it unassigned.

    • Select neither of the options, if you want to define a completely new Phone Key for the existing SIM card.

  8. Select Next.
