Modernizing a unique property portfolio

Ejendomsselskabet Ole Bruun ApS is a housing corporation providing rental accommodation in Copenhagen and the Helsingør municipality of Denmark.

Jan Bruun, Director/Building Designer, was looking to modernize the corporation’s property portfolio in order to offer a better service to tenants. One vital component of the modernization project was to update the inefficient mechanical locking system which was incurring frequent maintenance and service costs from locksmiths.

Mr Bruun had several criteria that needed to be fulfilled when choosing the new locking system. The ability to grant ‘conditional’ access rights was crucial. And, as some of the properties in the portfolio are over 100 years old, it was also important that the new cylinders didn’t spoil the buildings’ unique architecture. Mr Bruun found the ideal solution in the iLOQ S5 digital locking system.

Being a battery- and cable-free solution, there was no need to make major changes to the existing infrastructure or change the doors. This also saves maintenance time and costs related to changing batteries. The system is extremely secure and flexible; access rights can be easily updated as tenants move in and out, and quickly cancelled if a key is lost or stolen. Access rights can also be assigned to caretakers and service partners as and when necessary, ensuring that the living environment is maintained while security levels stay high.

“I have been very satisfied with the security and flexibility of the system. All our service partners have one ‘service’ key with access rights to all the properties they need to take care. This ensures they can move smoothly around our properties and perform their duties efficiently,” states Mr Bruun.
