The residents of the Baanrots apartment complex in Boxtel in the Netherlands feel completely safe in their homes. iLOQ’s digital locking system, chosen by Vereniging van Eigenaars (VvE), meets the highest possible level of safety, while making life easier.

In the complex, an alarming amount of about 40% of keys are not returned when residents change, which dramatically compromises security. And, even with one lost key, security can no longer be guaranteed. The main reason for replacing the existing mechanical locks with iLOQ’s easy-to-manage iLOQ S10 digital locking system is that access rights to lost or unreturned keys can be quickly and easily removed from the system by VvE itself so that they no longer function. Simple, fast, more secure.

The iLOQ key looks and operates exactly like a traditional key; just insert it into the lock, turn it and the door opens. The ingenuity is in the key’s chip which either allows or denies access. And the energy for unlocking comes from the movement of inserting the key into the cylinder – no batteries are required. Michel Spooren, Administrator of VVE Baanrots, explains that iLOQ keys are not only more secure, but even easier and better to use:

“We had problems with the mechanical locks, probably due to incorrect use by the residents. With the plug-in modules, we no longer get any complaints”.

The digital locking system also makes life easier. The gate to the car park is equipped with an iLOQ reader, which open the gate automatically when the key is held against it. It’s was lot trickier to open a mechanical lock, for example, when holding a bicycle in one hand.

And what is it like for the administrator, often a resident who spends their free time on the locking system?

“It was easy to make the switch in the building. No technical modifications were required, no batteries need to be replaced and you can manage everything yourself. We are particularly satisfied with the user-friendliness of the system and the support it provides in managing the keys and their users,” states Michel Spooren, Administrator of VvE Baanrots, Boxtel.
