iLOQ’s drive to succeed

Digital locking and mobile access solutions company, iLOQ, starts co-operation with 22-year-old Finnish golf professional, Alex Hietala.

As a company, iLOQ has always had a strong presence in the Nordic countries. Lately we been growing quickly throughout central and southern Europe with sales booming in France and Spain. But our long-term goal is to see our state-of-the-art battery-free digital locking and mobile access solutions making life accessible worldwide.

To raise the profile of our global brand, we have been partnering with key sporting personalities. Perhaps our most well-known partnership is with Formula 1 superstar, Kimi Räikkönen. As well as helping us create unique customer experiences at Formula 1 events and at our exhibitions, he also strongly features in our social media and sales and marketing campaigns.

iLOQ as a company started from very humble beginnings – one man’s vision on how to shape the future of locking and bring it into the digital forum. With that in mind, we also like to showcase young, upcoming talent; those that, like iLOQ, have the potential to achieve great things. We have therefore started co-operation with 22-year-old golf professional, Alex Hietala, from Sipoo in Southern Finland.

Alex had an extremely successful amateur career winning many tournaments with the highlight being crowned Finnish Amateur Champion in 2018. His professional career stalled at the beginning of 2020 with the advent of the coronavirus, but he spent the downtime training hard and honing his skills. At the time of writing, he is leading the overall competition in the Finnish PGA Golf Tour.

Golf is a sport that is very much gaining in popularity, even more so while the world has been in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic. Business-related travel has reduced, and more flexible ways of working have been introduced providing more opportunities to hit the course. If you’ve ever played golf, you will understand that it also supports social distancing guidelines. The tee box tends to be about as close as you get to your fellow competitors – after the first shot, everyone walks in different directions in search of their balls!

“iLOQ’s innovation and dedication enabled us to challenge the traditional locking market and put us in the position of being a leader in digital locking and mobile access solutions. We see many similar traits in Alex. He is a positive, young talent with all the capabilities and the winning attitude to break through in the European Tour. We enjoyed having him at our recent ‘Key to Success’ golf tournament and look forward to welcoming him at future partner and customer events,” states Joni Lampinen, iLOQ’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Like iLOQ, Alex is committed to working hard and shares the hunger to be the best of the best:

“It all starts with your desire to win. I am a good competitor and I like tough challenges. It is not enough to participate or enter the race. If you focus on doing your best and have the goal of winning in mind, then you will succeed. The mental edge in tough situations is what takes you forward.”

Alex, himself, has iLOQ installed in his home. Being so busy and active, he enjoys the benefits of secure living and how iLOQ is making his life more accessible. We look forward to supporting Alex as he moves up the ranks in his golfing career and utilizing his skills at our customer and partner events. Keep following our website and social media channels for more news of his success.
