In accordance with our environmental program and the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management systems certification, we aim to conserve natural resources by maximizing the usability of our products, minimizing waste, favoring recyclable packing and investing in the recycling of used products.

We actively participate in and promote the appropriate recycling of products containing electronics or circuit boards, such as net boxes, key switches, relay cards and key readers at the correct electrical and electronic waste collection points.

Our solutions which have revolutionized the locking industry are increasingly being used to optimize access management in a wide range of buildings, for example offices, schools, hospitals, utilities and residential properties.

The iLOQ S10 solution uses the greenest energy available; the natural movement of the human body. Our programmable electronic locks are self-powered. No batteries are required as they are powered by the kinetic energy generated by inserting the key into the lock.

The electronic keys we use are fully reusable and reprogrammable. This means that both our locks and keys can be returned to their factory settings and recommissioned for use in a completely new locking system. In addition to the possibility for repurposing locks and keys, our solutions are manufactured with components that are suitable for metal recycling. We ensure our suppliers and partners alike operate with the same high standards that we choose to follow.

Digitalization presents new opportunities

We also utilize the opportunities presented by ever-increasing digitalization to further improve our environmental performance. iLOQ S50 utilizes NFC technology to the fullest. It is world’s first NFC-powered lock cylinder that harvests the energy it needs for unlocking from a smartphone held next to it. It’s quick, easy and, as no batteries are required, it’s a cost-effective, maintenance-free and environmentally friendly solution.

Using the secure cloud for data storage decreases the need for a considerable amount of physical hardware. At the same time, we are continuously developing advanced services that significantly improve the customer experience and reduce the need for maintenance-related travel with its subsequent carbon emissions, for example by enabling flexible distribution of access rights to keys remotely.
