iLOQ installs its 10,000th battery-free smart lock on Phoenix Tower International sites

Phoenix Tower International (PTI) moved to battery-free smart locks in 2023. Since then, PTI has already rolled out more than 10,000 locks in 23 countries in Latin America, North America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Sustainability and positive social responsibility are important drivers for PTI. With the current installed base of iLOQ padlocks, PTI will save 20,000 kg (> 22 tons) of batteries over the next 15 years and 31,100 kg (> 34 tons) of C02 emissions and 15,390 liters (> 4,000 gallons) of water during the locks’ lifecycle.

iLOQ’s battery-free digital-locking solution allows PTI to remotely send keys to field technicians’ cell phones in real time. Furthermore, every interaction with an iLOQ lock is reported in real time, allowing PTI to track all activity at its sites: who entered or left where and when.

And all this without the need for unnecessary trips to the sites to change batteries or generating polluting waste.
