iLOQ introduces temporary access codes in iLOQ Web

iLOQ is pleased to introduce a new feature in the iLOQ 5 Series+ platform. Temporary access codes can now be generated through iLOQ Web. 

This enhancement provides locking-system administrators with a fast and convenient way to grant secure, time-limited access to visitors, contractors and service providers without them requiring a physical key, an iLOQ account or to download the iLOQ App. 

The new feature addresses a common challenge faced by property owners and organizations. Until now, providing temporary access typically required issuing a key fob or asking users to register for an iLOQ ID and install the iLOQ App. Temporary access codes eliminate this friction, making visitor access simpler while ensuring that locking-system administrators maintain full control and traceability. 

Simple visitor access without an app

Administrators can create a unique PIN code directly in iLOQ Web which is shown in the user interface. They can then copy the generated PIN code and send it to a visitor by email, SMS or any other preferred communication method.

The visitor does not need to create an account or download an app. They simply enter the PIN at a keypad-enabled reader to gain access to authorized areas during the specified access period. 

This makes the feature ideal for: 

• Contractors carrying out maintenance work 

• Delivery personnel 

• Temporary staff 

• Visitors and guests 

• Service providers requiring short-term access 

Fast and flexible administration 

Creating a temporary access code takes only a few moments. 

Administrators can: 

• Select a recipient, whether an individual, company or group 

• Define which Online readers the code can be used with 

• Set the start and end time for access 

• Generate a unique access code automatically 

• Share the code directly with the visitor 

One code can be used across all selected readers within the same customer system for the duration of its validity. 

Full control and complete traceability

Temporary access codes provide convenience without compromising security. 

Through iLOQ Web, administrators can: 

• View all active access codes 

• Edit validity periods 

• Regenerate access codes if required 

• Revoke access at any time 

• Delete codes when no longer needed 

Every access attempt, whether successful or unsuccessful, is recorded in the audit trail and can be viewed through both iLOQ Manager+ and iLOQ Web. 

This provides complete visibility and accountability while helping organizations maintain security and compliance requirements.
