Securing the future citizens of Europe and the world

Located in the international heart of the Netherlands, Europese School Den Haag (the European School The Hague) was established in 2012 to educate the children of employees of European Union institutions.

Approximately 350 members of staff work in the primary and secondary schools that are situated on two large campuses in the International Zone of The Hague.

The security of both pupils and staff is paramount to the European School. With the original mechanical locking system, access management was extremely challenging. There are many locks around the sites, staff members were carrying around numerous keys and often had access to unnecessary areas of the buildings.

As part of a renovation project, iLOQ’s battery-free digital locking solution was installed. This included locks for classroom doors, external doors and gates around the school building, keys and programming software.

With iLOQ’s easy-to-use cloud-based software, the caretaker takes responsibility for managing the locking system. Keys are programmed with the specific access rights for each staff member based on the areas they need access to. These can be easily updated as their needs change and quickly cancelled if a key is lost.

“iLOQ’s solution maximizes the security of our premises, minimizes administration time and costs and reduces the number of keys each member of staff carries around from three or four to just one. And we have always received professional, friendly and helpful service and support from the iLOQ team,” states Neil Simon, Facility Coordinator, Europese School Den Haag.
