Saint-Molf is part of the Cap Atlantique agglomeration community which includes several municipalities in western France. The origins of Saint-Molf trace back to the 7th century, but the area has signs of civilization from prehistoric times. With a rich heritage and lush biodiversity, its economy centers around its 16 active farms and 14 salt marsh operators. Residents have access to various public amenities, including markets, community centers, and recreational spaces, creating a dynamic and attractive living environment.

About the project

The municipality had been experiencing issues with their existing mechanical locking solution. They were struggling with extremely large and unmanageable key rings, complex key management and a lack of visibility on who had keys and to where and when they had access. There were also security issues related to lost or unreturned keys and no proper process for how to re-secure buildings in case of lost keys, since changing mechanical cylinders was too expensive. They considered other digital solutions which were battery-powered but considered that would be replacing one problem with another. They had seen the benefits iLOQ’s smart-locking solution used by the neighboring municipality of Saint-Lyphard and decided to also upgrade their facilities with iLOQ’s battery-free solution.

The solution

Working together with their partner – PROLIANS VAMA DOCKS – Saint-Molf chose iLOQ’s battery-free, key-based digital-locking solution. More than 100 cylinders have now been installed on all the doors in the municipality and 80 keys are in circulation. The solution has already drawn interest from other municipalities within the Cap Atlantique metropolitan area.

One key is all that is needed

Instead of having to carry around a huge bunch of keys, staff need just one iLOQ digital key to access all the municipality buildings.

Remote programming

Access rights can be remotely programmed to iLOQ’s keys and updated in real time as needs change. There is no need to travel to hand over keys, for example, for associations wishing to use municipal premises. And there is no need to worry about unauthorized access if an employee leaves and has not returned their key – the access rights are immediately cancelled. This maximizes security and saves time, money and impact on the environment.

Freedom from maintenance – reliable operation

iLOQ’s system is battery-free and requires no maintenance. And, because it works without electricity, there is reliable operation even, for example, during power outages.

Easy to install

iLOQ’s cylinders can be quickly and easily retrofitted into existing facilities. There is no need for drilling, special tools or for changes to be made to the existing infrastructure.
