WET Group

Optimizing operation and minimizing administration

Reference

For more than 80 years, the companies of the WET Group have been closely associated with the properties and people in the Austrian district of Mödling, near Vienna. With a motto of ‘Building better together’, the group is committed to ensuring a good standard of living is possible and affordable for everyone.

The property management arm of the group is currently responsible for 500 buildings. With a wide variety of contractors and third-party service providers, such as cleaners and maintenance staff, needing daily access to the buildings, the company faced the challenge of simultaneously managing numerous sites and vast numbers of locks. And a huge number of keys were in constant circulation. With their outdated mechanical locking and battery-operated system, this proved to be an inefficient and costly task.

In 2018, Mårten Persson from iLOQ’s Austrian sales team and Peter Zehetner from security specialist Schloss & Riegel worked together to solve WET Group’s access management challenges. It was clear that iLOQ’s S50 solution could reduce the time and costs involved with administration of such a large number of properties.

With iLOQ S50, the access rights to all WET Group’s property locks could be remotely shared and multiple sites conveniently consolidated into one user-friendly and secure cloud-based software platform. This has greatly simplified the administration involved in access management.

iLOQ S50 is the world’s first NFC self-powered lock cylinder. It generates the energy needed for unlocking from a smartphone running the iLOQ S50 mobile app. With no batteries to replace, WET Group’s lifecycle costs have been significantly reduced and vital resources saved.

WET Group’s initial test involved around 70 units. After 4 months of optimized operation and minimized administration, the installation was extended to 500 buildings in Lower Austria.

“The customer has been very satisfied with iLOQ’s solution. After about 70 units were successfully tested, he was confident enough to extend the system to the whole organization.”

Peter Zehetner, Owner, Schloss & Riegel
